Texas

Wow looking back at this blog I noticed I haven't blogged in a while. Well a whole lot has happened we have relocated to Texas. It was a great move and all our doing well adjusting. There are things I miss that were simple and easy to find in Massachusetts like for instance Pita Bread. A staple food that is known pretty much around the world but for some reason it is nearly impossible to find here. I have found that Kroger is the best place to go and get it, when desperate I will settle for the Ezekiel Bread found only in the Frozen Aisle. I also crave and miss Christmas Tree Shops. That was the place to go back home and find great steals and deals for the home and for the kids. I also find that thrift stores here are hard to find but did venture out last week into Houston and found a strip of Thrift Shops with some cool things.
It has been great being around family again, I sure did miss them. Tonight we celebrated my cousin Austin's 13th birthday and I got a little teary eyed knowing I missed a bunch but happy I am here now.
We have found a nice church that we have been going to for 3 weeks now. It is always hard to let your guard down and meet new people and trust again, but God will get me through this and heal my broken heart from the past hurts.
Isaac is doing great in school and is making lots of friends. He is above average in reading but likes to chat and chat and that sometimes gets him into trouble and time outs.
Addison is my shy one and also strong willed. We are working on ABC's and 123' but with a strong willed child she already knows them and doesn't need my help. She will start school when she is 6 so we have some time to get there.
As for me I am kinda lonely and missing my friends back home but hopefully with this new church that we are going to I will find some mom group and connect. Thats all for now

Pumpkin Patch, Petting Farm, And Olivers Birthday

Photobucket
We went to pumpkin picking with Liz and Lucian this year. We haven't seen them in a while so it was so nice to see Isaac and Lucian get along well. They were buddy buddy the whole time.Photobucket
We took a tractor out to the field and then were able to go and pick our own pumpkin. This was the kids first year really doing this. Addison kept tripping over the vines but didn't seem to mind it.Photobucket
She came across a small section in the patch that had these little pumkins growing. So she and Lucian picked one.Photobucket
It was early in the season when we went so most of the pumpkins were still green. The kids did good picking the ones they wanted.

After the patch we headed over to the petting farm. There was pigs, ducks, lamas, and sheep. The kids had fun with there freedom of running around and seeing everything they could. We didn't have any change on us but they figured out real quick that you could get free food off the ground from the food holders. Lucian and Isaac kept taking the bunnies food to feed the pigs. They had this old tractor too that you could sit on and pretend that you were driving. Everyone had to wait their turn.

And then after that we headed over to GG's and Autsies house for Oliver's birthday.Photobucket He wanted peach pie instead of cake. There was also homemade chocolate cream pie. YUM! It was a nice day outside too so Isaac brought over his 4Photobucketwheeler and shared it with Lucian. At first Lucian was apprehensive about going on. But soon he went with mommy and had fun. At one poing Isaac was driving and took a turn and Lucian fell out. Isaac kept going but I dont think he knew he fell out. He was okay though but didnt want to get back on that thing. But in the end he did. Addison was alseep before we left Blumer. It was a great day with family.

Apples and Friendship

I haven't blogged in well over 5 months that is really bad....well I will try to be more into this. It's just so hard takes some time and I feel like time just fly's right out the door. Isaac and Addison are getting so big and are into everything! They are growing up right before my eyes. Addison only says a few words but were are trying to remain patient that she will speak soon. Isaac on the other hand knows words that I dint even know he knew. He Amazes me!

We went apple picking two weekends ago at Dickinson farm with our good friends the Wirths. It was a beautiful sunny fall day. The leaves are already changing and the weather is getting colder and colder here. We arrived and there is a tractor that you take up to the orchard where the apples are. They only had Cortland the other apples were all done for the season. Apple season is usually early August-September. We caught it right at the end of the season.
The kids had a blast running free in the crisp autumn field of apples. It was really Addison's first time biting into an apple because last year we went she really didn't have teeth. Isaac enjoyed being a BOY and climbing trees.

Easter Egg hunt and more....

Growing up tradition was we would have an indoor egg hunt with the plastic eggs. The plastic eggs would be filled with money, that was the most exciting part that I remember. Some with quarters and some with dollar bills. When your little $1 means a lot! Then we would find the hard boiled eggs we colored previously. It was a lot of fun and then we would eat them! I want to keep those traditions going for my children.
Isaac has had many questions as to what Easter is. Adam and I have been telling him that Jesus came to save us from our sins but many people didn't like Jesus. So they nailed him to the cross. He died and three days later her rose from the dead. I told him that no one on earth has ever done that for someone except Jesus. He really understood what we were telling him. It's amazing because child like faith is what he has. He believes with his heart that Jesus is real even though he has never seen who Jesus is. It brings tears to my eyes to know that he really does love and care about Jesus. Train up a child in the way that he should go so when he is older he will not depart from it. These are things that will go with him for ever. So we all sat down yesterday at the table and Isaac told everyone the story about Jesus. It was so cute. Even my brothers were blown away. They were like "Wow he knows all that". This is how he said it "Jesus came to the earth to save us and three days later three he rose from the dead and loved all the bad guys" It made me and Adam proud of him. He has a true gift of understanding.
We also did the egg hunt outside and it was a cold and windy day but we managed to do it. Neal and Allen hid the eggs they did a good job and kept it easy for the little ones.
